Ask Luke: Stats Tracker for Google Blogger
Today’s Question comes from Paul Quillman of The Next Reformation:
Q: Is there a stat tracker, similar to the one on WordPress, that can be installed on blogger, and if so, how do you install it? I’m looking for something that will track hits on individual posts, as well as find any incoming links.
A: Thanks for asking. I am always looking for new questions to include in this series. You have at least two options. Google Analytics gives you the most information but is a little (very little) more difficult to set-up. StatCounter sets up easily, but does not capture as much info.
For info on setting-up Google Analytics, see http://www.infektia.net/how-to-track-your-blogger-statistics-with-google/. Depending on the version of Blogger you are using you might have to use the alternate method mentioned in the comment at that site.
To set-up StatCounter goto http://www.statcounter.com/blogger/.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions, please ask. Does anyone else have a suggestion on Stats for Blogger?

Hi Luke…greetings from sunny Arizona. Thanks for answering the question so well. I could’ve used this information months ago (if only I thought to ask!!). We just switched to WP for our blog and like the funtionality much better.
Keep up the good advice!!!
Arizona,
I totally agree. WP is a much better system. This question, oddly enough, came from someone that switched to wordpress.com, but was curious about traffic on his old site.
BTW, never shut down an old site just add links to the new one. The old content will keep drawing traffic long after you have stopped updating.
Your old site will help increase your backlinks to the new site. If you have thousands of pages on your old site, imagine what those can do to your new site.
will use this plug-in continuous..
Thank you for linking to my tutorial Luke! Much appreciated!
