I have a simple request. If Steve Jobs decides to go beyond my expectations that is great, but here is what I want.
Apple, please create an iPod News / Blog Reader. Actually, a web browser would be the best idea. All I am going to ask for is black and white, but color would not be a problem. You can use and electronic paper display (EPD) from E-Ink. This would save batteries, and if it is designed right I will be able to roll it up and put it in my pocket.
You could use an EPD as an external display for the existing iPod and just upgrade the software to allow storing web-sites, blogs, text files, etc. on the iPod. I do not want a built in keyboard, but the ability to plug in a USB keyboard would be neat. With a USB input option you could have all kinds of options including FrogPad or a camera. Ok, now I am really starting to dream…. Back to simple: an iPod text reader. Simple enough it could be out this spring! Please!
I know there are alternatives to E-Ink. I am not mandating technology, just the idea. Now how do I convince Apple to do this?
