Google wants to make you anonymous. I want to make you famous.

Conversations are more interesting when more than one person is involved. Blogging at it’s best is a conversation. Which means if you want to really enjoy blogging you are going to have to find some people to read and comment on your blog. My family reads my blog and chances are good that you can get your family to read yours too. But comments are a different story.

Your family and friends read your blog and think, “I will ask him about that next time I talk to him.” Then they forget about it and you never have a conversation. So I am going to help you find some friends that have common interests but who will be more likely to comment since they do not see you everyday. Common interests? Yes, you both have the same favorite blogger – me!

What does this have to do with Google? They became famous by filling their site with thousands of links to other places. They made it their goal to get you off their site as quickly as possible. I want to do the same thing today I want to send you to the site of a few other readers. (See list at the bottom of this post.) Click here to find out how you can be on this list.

Ok, back to Google. With great power comes great responsibility. Google has millions of people going to it’s sites everyday. This gives them access to huge amounts of information. So far they have not done anything horrible with the data like Yahoo did, but there have been a few close calls. To combat this they are adjusting their personal information retention policy for regular search and for Google Suggest. Basically they want to make your search history anonymous faster. That is all well and good but I would rather make you famous.

Now what you all have been waiting for – a list of my best readers. Make friends with these people. They not only share a common interest, they also are more likely than average to comment on your blog, so you won’t have to be lonely anymore.

Did anybody notice the picture of the Nuclear Russian Submarine in the image by Cuellar? The dialog about Google and Blogging lost me so the Russian Sub caught my attention and caused me to think of the good old days during the cold war…

Mark, How on earth could you tell that was a submarine? My eyes are not that good.
