How do you transform 2007 version Megatron?

I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas. We are having a great time!

So what’s up with the title of the post?

Well…. Phillip got a new transformer for Christmas, and we cannot figure out how to make it work. We have the instructions, but I seem to remember even when I was a kid (90? years ago) the instructions were not helpful. They have not gotten any better.

If you have a new Megatron that turns into a space ship and have figured out how to make it work, would you help me figure it out?

I searched for a video, but the only ones I found are the old style Megatron that turns into a gun. Apparently there are at least five versions of this character, and this one comes from the 2007 movie.

Here are the instructions that we have. You can compare to see if we are looking at the same thing. Please help.
