iPod Nano shuffle and shake

It is not everyday that I get to laugh at an Apple ad. Today’s ad was special. It suggested shaking an electronic device and expecting something positive to happen. I immediately had mental pictures of the many times I have seen grown adults shaking and hitting their computers trying to get them to do something. Yes, I actually have seen this… several times!

In this case, they actually have a neat idea. You shake your iPod to mix-up your play list. Very intuitive. I just hope people do not start shaking hard drive based devices, and expect that to work.

Next up: devices where we can pour data from one device to the other.

  1. Love the new Ipod Nano 4 style, but this version seems very flimsy. Anyone else think so ?

The shakable playlist sounds like a really cool idea. I see from a commercial the other day that they have games you can shake and move the ipod to play. Looks pretty cool.

The price is much cheaper than previous generations too

makes you wonder what they took out of it

I have one. Seems like the shake feature is hit or miss. I almost dropped it one day, and the song changed, however, when I shake it deliberately, I feel like I’m having a tantrum, and not always does it change.

    Aside from that, It’s cool.

I held the new iPod nano for a few seconds and its so light I actually forgot about it.

What gets me worried is it would be alot easier to be a victim of a pick pocket job here, you wouldn’t realize, unless your using the iPod at the time of course :P

Ive got this function on my cool, lags a bit though.

Shana, Does it make any difference whether you are shaking up and down, left and right, or rotating?

    Mr. Free,

Maybe you should glue it to your cell phone since that is likely a bit too light also. Together maybe they will have enough presence that you would miss them immediately. And if they are glued well the potential thief may decide not to take it since pawning the two devices while attached might be difficult.
