So, how many of you are asking yourself where in Asia is Zemanta? Hint: It isn’t.
Zemanta is a really cool application that has been hanging out in my blog for a while. It automatically finds articles, links, and pictures related to a post while I type it. I have another tool where I can look up photos to include, but Zemanta makes it easier.
Probably one of the neatest, features of Zemanta is that it gives you set of nine pictures before you even start typing. I am not sure if Zemanta learns over time what type of pictures to give you to start out with or if the people picking the default images have really good tastes, but I usually love those first nine pictures. I included five out of the set for today.
So why am I telling you about this? Because I happen to know a few people who are having trouble thinking of something to blog about. Here is my idea: Install Zemanta (or get me to do it for you) and then pick your favorite each day and tell why you like it, or use the pictures as inspiration for a post. That is what happened with the Zebra post yesterday. Try it. I will be fun!
Update: The Wizard suggests using one of the pictures as inspiration for a short poem. Alright, Matt. The gauntlet has been thrown.

I also want to know where is zemanta i have heard about this first time the pictures which you have added in this blog are very good i hope these are of zemanta.
Allen,
Yes, most of my pictures come from zemanta. The funny thing is that I have a huge collection of pictures that I am not using for some reason. I guess because most of them are not related to what I am writing about.
Does Zemanta charge for the use of their pictures…its seems like most good stock photographs have a copyright attached to it and some type of insignia that prevents that photo from being used or replicated…
Zemanta does not actually own any of these pictures they are public domain pictures that people have made freely available for the enjoyment of all. Zemanta just brings them together and makes it easy for bloggers to share them with others. There are tens of thousands of picture being taken and made freely available every minute. Not hundreds of thousands. Only tens of thousands, but still that’s a lot!
An idea can change our way of life and all our lifestyle. I am wondering why I was so ignorant to it because it looks like pretty cool application. I’ll be giving it a try right away.
Luke, You are true, tens of thousands of picture are more than enough and they can be used in such services conveniently. I like Zemanta in the way that it showed articles and other stuff besides pictures.
