This may be the last post from me that you see for a while. I am upgrading to PHP 5.2.5 and do not see anything at this point that says WordPress 2.3.3 works with the new PHP. I did find someone else asking if this would work so I am going to give it a try and then we will know. 
Update: The upgrade went fine, but I am not sure which version of 5.x I ended up with. I had to go back and forth with my webhost a few times and will have to check eventually. But it is PHP 5 and Wordpress 2.3 works fine. I am also leaving a comment on the WordPress forum. Next step: upgrade to WordPress 2.5!
