I am about to start testing several hundred plugin for compatibility with WordPress 2.7 and determine which ones are the easiest to use and which are the most powerful. I will also be looking at feature overlap and determining which ones are the best for different scenarios.
Would you help me test these?
I can provide a testing environment if needed. Also, if you are already using any of these in WordPress 2.7, please let me know. If you are not into testing just hold your breath we will get you the info you are looking for soon enough.
Here is an almost complete list of the plugins I want to test. Believe it or not, this is a short list. There are thousands of plugins available, so for the last several weeks I have been going through them and picking which ones to test.

Wow. That’s quite a list. Imagine having all of them installed on the same blog!
Yep, and my list to test is still growing.
Matt of WordPress says that at least one person has over 1000 installed!
I just ran a query and there are over 3,500 available through WordPress.org and a lot are not there yet.
its the best
Hi, Luke!
My name is Rich Christiansen, and I’m the author of the Featurific for WordPress plugin. I’d be happy to help you test! How shall we proceed?
Hi there – I’m the author of TDO Mini Forms plugin and I can confirm it works in 2.7 (except for some admin menu formatting issues that are pretty minor). – what kind of testing are you trying to do?
Hi Luke,
Just wanted to let you know that I’m done testing WP 2.7 with Featurific – it seems to be fully compatible with no upgrade issues at all. Thanks for heading up this effort – I hope my simple report helps get you one step closer to meeting your goal!

Luke,
That is one huge list…Seems like adding all to one blog is sure to break the thing! I am using 2.7 and for me it seems to load slowly. I am using WP gravatar and akismet, and both plugins are working fine! Sharon
Sharon,
Your site seemed to load pretty fast when I tried it just now. Were you saying the admin was slow to load?
You are right that running all of those at once would cause trouble. I am breaking them up into sets and comparing which ones are best for different types of sites and different needs.
Many of the plug-ins are redundant and some are obsolete. I am hoping to build a shorter list and some decision trees to help people pick the ones that are best for them.
wow you did a lot of test… hopefully u will succeed….
i think your blog is fast enough man…
Having too many plugins activated at once could cause your site to have problems on shared servers.
Post thumb revisited is breaking the dashboard for me. It’s still totally functional but the full dashboard doesn’t load.
Rachel,
Thanks for the update on Post Thumb Revisited.
nice post!
